Moscow Public Foundation for Support of Culture and Development of Contemporary Art announces Moscow International Art Week in June 2026

The large-scale citywide festival will be held from June 5 to June 8, 2026 and is designed to become an outstanding event in the cultural life of the capital, strengthening its position as a global art capital.

Based on the 20-year experience of organizing 14 successful international art festivals “Traditions and Modernity”, the new initiative represents a significant evolution and reaching a qualitatively new level.

The Foundation has a proven track record of organizing events that have previously attracted more than 6,990 artists and 4.65 million visitors.

The festival will be held under the motto “Art without borders”(#artwithoutborders) and will unite artists from more than 60 countries and all 85 regions of Russia, creating a unique bridge between different cultures and artistic traditions.

“This is more than just a festival; it is a strategic initiative to position Moscow as one of the world’s most important cultural centers,” say the organizers. – We are creating a precedent where the entire city becomes a stage for art, demonstrating Russia’s rich cultural heritage and dynamic contemporary art scene to the world”.

A citywide celebration of the arts

Moscow International Art Week will go beyond traditional venues and integrate the entire cultural infrastructure of the city, turning Moscow into a single art space.

The program of the event will include ten main areas of art, covering painting, graphics, sculpture, digital art, installations and photography. A rich cultural and educational schedule will offer public lectures, professional forums, master classes, musical concerts and theatrical performances not only at the three main locations, but also in the urban space within the “old” Moscow Ring.

International Award "VERA"

The Moscow International Art Week will culminate with the award ceremony of the International Award “VERA”. The award, which is a bronze statuette by Honored Artist of Russia Viktor Mitroshin, is a recognized symbol of achievement in the world of art. The authoritative international jury, which will include representatives of academies and ambassadors of different countries, will choose laureates in 10 nominations. To date, 371 artists and galleries have received this award.
